Facial & Skin Treatments
A face you’ll want to show off
At RESTORE Facial Aesthetics improving your self-confidence is at the heart of what we do. But this isn’t just achieved with dental treatments; we also have a facial aesthetic and skin clinic.Over time our bodies produce less of the natural substances that keep our skin firm and hydrated and we understand that in the social media era, people have never been more conscious of their appearance and wish to appear youthful.
Facial Aesthetics at RESTORE
We are a specialist led clinic providing a full range of bespoke facial aesthetic and skin treatments, uniquely tailored to the individual for beautiful, natural results.
We offer the most advanced and sophisticated non-surgical, anti-aging procedures and treatments available on the market today. Our anti-ageing treatments include botulinum toxin for fine line and wrinkle smoothing and dermal fillers for deeper lines, lip enhancements and wrinkles.
Why consider Facial Aesthetics?
- Lines, wrinkles and a loss of radiance are unfortunately a natural part of the ageing process. Overtime our skins cells become less effective at repairing themselves, and we produce less collagen. This causes our skin to become thinner and lose its youthful glow.
- Genetics will influence the process, but environmental factors also play a part. Ultraviolet (UV) light, smoking, a high-sugar diet, lack of sleep and stress can all affect cell repair and collagen production.
- Keeping these risk factors in check, particularly your exposure to UV light, will go some way towards preventing the first signs of ageing, but unfortunately it won’t stop or reverse the process. This is where we can help. Using the most advanced anti-ageing treatments, we can help you to roll back the years – and achieve natural and radiant results.
Why choose a specialist clinic for facial aesthetics?
- The Facial Aesthetic Team at RESTORE is led by a renowned facial aesthetics trainer Tim Eldridge, who has provided training to many practitioners both within the U.K. and internationally.
- Whilst offers on the high street may seem tempting, in an industry that is not highly regulated, it is inadvisable to risk having facial treatments from a person who might lack formal training or have little experience.
- Dentists, however, have medical training and specifically in the anatomy of the head and neck, and experience in pain control and complications management.
RESTORE YOUR YOUTH
What treatments are available?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular – and highly effective – way of treating lines and wrinkles. Our skilled practitioners inject very small quantities of botulinum toxin (which is more commonly known by the brand name ‘Botox’) into the skin to relax the facial muscles and reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.
Botulinium Toxin type A is a purified form of a naturally occurring protein which temporarily prevents muscles in the treated area from contracting and creating wrinkles. If you have lines or wrinkles which you can see when your face is at rest, dermal fillers may be a more appropriate choice.
The most commonly treated areas are the crow’s feet, frown lines and the forehead. The same product is also an effective way of preventing excessive under arm sweating.
Treatment involves a small number of injections with a small needle and takes only minutes to carry out.
The effects may be seen within 48 to 72 hours although it takes up to two weeks for the full result to appear. Some studies have even shown that with repeated treatment, the interval between injections becomes longer.
After one treatment the effects will last for up to four months; many of our patients choose to maintain their results through regular appointments. If you’re nervous about looking unnatural, or ‘frozen’, don’t worry. Our experienced team will help you to achieve a natural and expressive result that still looks like you.
Unfortunately there’s nothing we can do to stop the visible signs of ageing – but we can make them a lot less noticeable. By injecting small amounts of dermal filler into the skin we can restore volume where it’s lacking – making your skin appear plumper, smoother and more radiant. We can also use dermal fillers to add definition to certain areas of the face and fullness to the lips.
Facial volume loss is one of the key factors in the ageing process, and dermal fillers can help to replenish this lost volume, and rejuvenate the face.
Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance, define, or enlarge lips, and to shape and volumise the face by injection into cheeks, chins, and nose.
Treatment usually involves the application of local anaesthetic cream to the treated area or a nerve block similar to a dental injection.
The dermal filler is then comfortably injected into the treated area to fill out the line, wrinkle or fold. Some fillers contain an anaesthetic in them to help with any discomfort, if a nerve block has not been administered.
If you are interested in reducing wrinkles which occur through facial expression, you may find that other treatments which we offer are better suited to your needs.
Treatment isn’t painful and takes just 20 to 30 minutes. You should start to see results within a few days and the effects will last for up to 18 months during which the filler will be safely absorbed by your body.
Not everyone is blessed with full lips and as we age our lips naturally lose volume and change shape. While this is a purely cosmetic problem, help is at hand. Lip fillers are a popular way of restoring or adding volume, and subtly changing the shape of your lips. Using hyaluronic acid – a substance found naturally in the body – we can enhance what nature gave you, giving you a perfectly plump pout.
Our skilled practitioners will make small changes to your lips that will make a big difference to your confidence. By carefully injecting small quantities of hyaluronic acid into your lips we can increase their size and create more definition – accentuating your cupids bow for a naturally curvaceous result.
The treatment itself is quick – lasting approximately 30 minutes – and comfortable thanks to a local anaesthetic. The use of hyaluronic acid gives us maximum control over the results, allowing us to use just the right amount to achieve a natural result.
You might find that your lips are slightly swollen just after the treatment but this should subside within 24 hours. The results should last for up to six months, sometimes longer.
Sweating is a natural process: the body’s way of cooling down and releasing toxins. We also sweat when we are suffering with fever or when we are nervous. Everyone sweats – especially in the warmer weather or following exercise – but for some it can become a problem. Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes sufferers to sweat excessively or on a regular basis. Understandably it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing, and make social situations potentially awkward.
Excessive under arm sweating is experienced by many people without the above triggers. There is no one cause for this. Although it is not unusual, it can lead to increased self consciousness.
There are various treatments available to tackle hyperhidrosis, including specialist antiperspirants and lifestyle changes. One of the most effective treatments, however, is botulinum toxin injections. By injecting small amounts into the affected areas, we can block the signals between the brain and sweat glands – dramatically relieving your symptoms. The results are almost immediate and can last for up to six months. There are no adverse effects on the body. The procedure is painless and simple.
Treatment can be repeated as and when you feel that you need it, and with treatment being repeated, clients often find that the benefits last longer.
Although, as the name implies, botulinum toxin is a type of toxin, it is completely safe used in small quantities. For many years it’s been used as an anti-ageing treatment to reduce lines and wrinkles; you may be more familiar with the term ‘Botox’, which is a brand of botulinum toxin.
Botulinum toxin is most commonly used to treat the underarms, but it can be used on other parts of the body, such as the forehead or hands. The procedure usually takes just 30 minutes and the effects of one course of treatment can last for up to 8 months.
Some of our patients have the treatment once a year, to see them through the warmer summer months, while others opt for regular treatments to maintain their great results.
A non-surgical nose reshaping treatment uses dermal filler as an advanced and effective alternative to a surgical rhinoplasty. Dermal filler can be used to subtly enhance the contours of your nose while reshaping it to give more definition. It is also highly effective for treating:
- Slight ‘bumps’ in the bridge of the nose
- Crooked line of the nose (particularly in profile view)
- Cartilage irregularities at the tip of the nose
While dermal filler treatment has been widely available over recent years, the versatility of the product has now been harnessed to deliver results that would previously only have been achievable via a surgical route.
At a fraction of the cost of surgery and without the associated downtime for recovery, the appearance of the nose can be altered in the time it would take to fill a tooth. Using non-permanent fillers, your new look can either be maintained, or easily modified at your next appointment.
If you are self-conscious about your nose, contact us for a consultation to discuss how we can help.
Non-invasive plasma treatment can lead to a great improvement in previously drooping eyelids and other areas around the eye.
The technique used targets only the areas being treated and achieves remarkable results comparable to those of surgery, at a fraction of the cost. Not only is the technique completely noninvasive, but recovery time is minimal and many patients achieve the results they are looking for in just one appointment. Like all facial aesthetics treatments performed at RESTORE, our expert will anaesthetise the area with a local or topical anaesthetic.
During the treatment, there is no direct contact between the equipment used and the skin. A current is created, which is directed only at the areas being treated and only has an impact on the upper layers of the skin.
The images demonstrate the appearance of the eyes before and after treatment.
Post appointment, patients are likely to find that the area treated is a little red, however once this has subsided the results are immediately visible and long lasting.
As with all facial aesthetics treatments, you will return to RESTORE for a review of your treatment in the month following your initial appointment. The same technique can also be used to remove skin tags and moles.
Our team is always on the lookout for the least invasive but most effective anti-ageing treatments. We want our patients to experience a noticeable but natural difference – and that’s exactly what the liquid facelift delivers.
The liquid facelift is a progressive anti-ageing facial treatment that works by replacing the collagen we all lose naturally as we age. Collagen is a protein found in the body; among other things it’s responsible for giving our skin volume, firmness and strength. As we age our collagen supplies dwindle and our skin loses its elasticity, forming the most common visible signs of ageing:
- Fine lines
- Deep wrinkles
- Saggy skin
- Crows’ feet
- Laughter lines
- Skin folds
The liquid facelift tackles these complaints by replacing lost collagen with poly-L-lactic acid or hyaluronic acid. This works to gradually strengthen your skin’s structure and restore fullness to your face, smoothing out lines, wrinkles and deeper folds.
During your treatment, one of our trained practitioners will inject small amounts of Scupltra® (poly-L-lactic acid) or Juvederm® VOLUMA® (hyaluronic acid) into your skin, paying attention to specific areas depending on your needs. If you prefer we can use a mild topical anaesthetic to help reduce any discomfort during the treatment.
You won’t notice an instant difference, but gradually you’ll see your skin transform. For the greatest benefit, we recommend spreading three sessions over a few months. This will give you impressive results that will last for up to two years.
Whilst moles, cysts, skin tags and lesions are common skin conditions, they can be irritating and uncomfortable. Thanks to the latest techniques, they can be effectively removed from the face and body to restore the comfort and appearance of your skin.
Using the same technique as our non-surgical blepharoplasty, our facial aesthetics specialists can remove any moles which you would rather you didn’t have!
Although this is part of our facial aesthetics treatment portfolio, this service is in no way limited to facial moles. Using the latest plasma treatment, the technique not only removes the specific moles being treated, but the skin is stimulated to produce collagen which rejuvenates the area.
Please be mindful that this is a cosmetic procedure. If you are concerned about any change in appearance or colour of moles, if they are weeping or bleeding, please visit your GP. Our Specialist Team is only able to remove moles which are normal and non-cancerous and have been classified as such by your doctor.
As with all our treatments, please book your consultation to see how we can help you.
Skin tags are generally harmless, however depending on where on the body they are, they may be irritated by catching on clothing or you may simply just not like having them.
With the same plasma technology used in non-surgical blepharoplasty and mole removal, getting rid of these skin tags is simple. By producing an electrical current, the temperature of the area being treated is raised, destroying the tissue in a targeted and controlled manner. In addition to this, the skin is stimulated to produce collagen. It can be performed alongside other facial aesthetics treatments such as dermal fillers and Botox. The procedure is carried out with either anesthetic cream or local anesthetic injection.
Chemical peels are a method of regenerating and resurfacing the skin by inducing a controlled wound to the skin.
It removes the top layers of skin to help induce collagen re-modelling and improve sun-damaged skin, skin pigmentation problems, wrinkles, skin texture, and the overall appearance of the skin. There are several types of chemical peels each suited to different skin problems and types.
Chemical peels also vary in strength and are classified as superficial, medium, and deep according to the level of skin they reach.
The key determinants to which chemical peel is right for you are; the degree of the skin problem/ageing/sun-damage, the skin type/colour, the amount of improvement you would like to achieve, and the amount of recovery or downtime that is acceptable by you.
Thread veins are tiny veins that appear most commonly on the cheeks, nose and legs. Small thread veins are red, but larger ones look purplish. They have many names, including: spider veins, broken veins (not an accurate name, because they are not actually broken) and capillary veins.
Normally, the tiny veins in the skin are invisible, but in some people they expand and show through the skin. One cause of this is too much exposure to the sun over the years. Another is pregnancy or oestrogen treatment. They may also be inherited. Thread veins can sometimes be a sign of rosacea, a skin condition, or can result from overuse of steroid creams. Thread veins are more obvious after mid-life, when the skin becomes thinner and loses some of its collagen.
RESTORE uses V-beauty technology. This treatment utilizes the principle of “Thermo-Coagulation” which is based on a high frequency wave – a microwave – heating up the thread vein without affecting the outer layers of the skin. The machine selectively heats the thread vein, destroying it and allowing the body to re-absorb it over a period of time.
V-Beauty treats Red Spot, Rosacea and most facial red veins including those intra-nasal veins which have been previously untreatable. The sterile, single use needle is coated with an invisible insulating sheath, which protects the skin enabling a targeted treatment without the risk of any significant pain or long-term effects. This can also be performed at the same time as other facial aesthetics treatments.
Microneedling causes the skins natural collagen to regenerate. This treatment uses numerous tiny needles to penetrate the skin up to 2mm. This creates channels for specific serums to be used to help regenerate the skin from deeper under the surface. Genosys serums used at RESTORE Facial Aesthetics include Scar removal (particularly good for acne scaring) and hyaluronic acid serum which plumps and firms the skin which leaves the skin feeling fresh and regenerated.
Collagen Stimulating Treatment can be used for:
- Acne scars
- Ageing & sun damaged skin
- Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
- Uneven skin
- Dull skin
- Pigmentation
This treatment is a great next step if you have tried facials and chemical peels and looking for more enhanced results.Dermarolling and Microneedling can be used to treat the face, neck, chest and/or hands. This treatment will improve the quality of your skin. Best results are seen with a series of 3 treatments with 4 week intervals.
What to expect during your Dermaroller treatment:
- Your treatment will take around 1 hour in total. The area being treated will be cleaned and cleansed to remove any make up or moisturisers. A topical anaesthetic (numbing) cream is applied to the area and left to work for 5-10 minutes. The numbing cream is then removed.
- A specific serum which has been carefully selected for you is applied to the skin. The Dermaroller is then repeatedly rolled over the area being treated, creating the channels through the skin allowing the serum to work from deep within the skin.
- When the treatment has been completed a recovery cream is applied to the skin. The treatment is then finished with a collagen boasting face mask, before a high SPF cream is applied.
- This treatment will leave the skin red and will usually settle within 12 hours. The skin will feel very tight and warm. Results can be seen from the next day after treatment to 4 weeks later. It is important for patients to continue wearing a high SPF cream on the area treated to avoid sun damage and prevent the skin regenerating and providing best results.
